Memories: A Guest Video

When I first watched this video by Jj Guerra, it brought back a flood of memories from a cherished time in my life.  It offers a glimpse into a world rarely seen and in my case, greatly missed, not only for the fantastic people with whom I was privileged to work but also for the fleeting opportunity to truly fly.

Watch it here!

Author’s Note:  I apologize that this link is not embedded directly into my blog, but I’m not yet in a position to shell out the mad cheddar to buy a video upgrade from WordPress.  Maybe Santa can hook me up next week.

UPDATE!  Santa didn’t need to hook me up so much as buy me a clue – you can now click on the “Watch it here” link to enjoy the video.  Happy Holidays!

  1. I don’t know why I loved that video so much. I was mesmerized by it. Perhaps seeing a slice of life I never really see. It shows the nobility of doing work even though it’s not that glamorous. This is what the world is made up of – people behind the scenes who never get much, if any, credit for keeping things running. Thank you. And, I never really heard “Teenage Wasteland” but now I think it’s incredible.

  2. I’m glad you liked it! All the credit really goes to my friend, Jj Guerra, who did a fantastic job (in my humble opinion) putting this video together. In fact, I’m hoping to figure out how to post another more recent video of his on this same subject. I will make sure to pass along your comment.

    Thank you!

  3. Me too! I really enjoyed seeing some of my fellow co-workers in this video. My favorite part is the meet at the end when all the Learjets line up one by one, are swarmed by the rampers who unload and load the planes, and then they all leave again. As I recall, all that happens in the span of about an hour. And each jet could conceivably carry up to about 3,000 pounds of canceled checks, depending on their fuel requirements to reach whatever their destination might be.

And by the way, if you’re looking to download that song, it’s “Baba O’Reily” by the Who. My husband took an inordinate amount of pleasure in correcting me when I thought it was called “Teenage Wasteland,” too, so don’t feel bad. 😉

    1. Merry Christmas! And tell Nick that I miss the crap out of him! He should drop me a line and let me know how the family is doing when he’s not working his butt off. 😉
